OP-KISS Requirements for Participation Certificates

Minimum Requirements for at Least One Surgical Department in the Hospital:

Always:

• At least 6 months of data submission from a department registered with OP-KISS per calendar year for all required module elements (surgical data for at least one OP-KISS indicator surgery and reporting of postoperative wound infections, additional elements if applicable).
• Timely submission of data by February 15 of the following year.
• One-time participation of a hospital representative in the KISS introductory course (a prerequisite for participation in OP-KISS).

And at least two of the following requirements:

• Participation of a hospital representative in the KISS experience exchange at least every two years.
• Participation in validations with case studies within the specified timeframe.
• Response to inquiries regarding structural and process quality or validity within the specified timeframe.

Requirements not offered by KISS (e.g., no inquiries sent) are considered fulfilled.
