Terms of Participation

The terms of participation vary depending on the KISS module you wish to participate in. Please refer to the respective KISS protocols for details. These can be found on the pages of the corresponding KISS modules.


Prerequisites

To participate in ward- or department-based modules (OP-, ITS-, STATIONS-, NEO-, and ONKO-KISS), it is necessary to complete a one-time introductory course. This course provides a detailed overview of the data collection methodology and includes training on diagnostics using the established definitions.
The dates for upcoming introductory courses will be announced on our homepage under "Events" in a timely manner.

For hospital-based modules (HAND-, MRSA-, and CDI-KISS), completing an introductory course is not mandatory but is recommended.

Every two years, participation in the KISS experience exchange is required for ward- or department-based modules (OP-, ITS-, STATIONS-, NEO-, and ONKO-KISS). The dates for the next KISS experience exchange will be announced on our homepage under "Events" in a timely manner. It is sufficient for at least one representative from your hospital, responsible for data collection, to attend this exchange.

Register User Account

Your personal registration as a user is required for access and participation in webKess. Each person who wants to enter data in webKess needs their own account. This account is linked to you as a user and is independent of your employer. To register, go to the webKess homepage. Below the login area, you’ll find the link "Register." Choose the classic user registration option and enter your information. You will then receive an email from us with the application attached. Please sign this and send it by email to kiss-antrag@charite.de. Once we have received your signed form, your user account will be activated by webKess support, and you will receive a confirmation email. The link to user registration is at the lower left of the webKess homepage. User accounts are non-transferable.

HAND-KISS-AMBU

For participation in HAND-KISS-AMBU only, there is a simplified version of user registration, which also includes module registration.

Module Registration or Access Request?

If you are not yet participating in the desired module, submit a registration request. Log in to webKess with your username and password. On the left side, under Requests / Registration, you’ll find "Register New KISS Module in webKess." Select the desired module and fill out the following form. You will then receive an email from us with the application as a PDF attachment. This form must be signed and stamped as required and sent in its original form by email to kiss-antrag@charite.de. Once we have received the application, activation is done by webKess support, and you will receive a confirmation email.

If you are already participating, first obtain the necessary KISS abbreviations from your colleagues or contact support. Log in to webKess with your username and password. On the left side, under Requests / Registration, you’ll find "Request Access to Registered KISS Module." Enter the required KISS abbreviation (hospital abbreviation and module abbreviation separated by a space). Please note the correct capitalization. You will then receive an email from us with the application as a PDF attachment. This form must be signed and stamped as required and sent in its original form by email to kiss-antrag@charite.de. Once we have received the application, activation is done by webKess support, and you will receive a confirmation email.


Deregistration

Deregister User

To permanently end your personal participation in webKess, please send an email with your username and a request for deletion to kiss-support@charite.de. We will then deactivate your user account. If you wish to work with webKess again later, please contact us to reactivate your account.

Revoke Access Rights

To revoke a user’s access rights, please send an email with the username and the relevant KISS abbreviations (each including a hospital and a ward abbreviation) to kiss-support@charite.de. If there is a change in the contact person, please include their username if possible.

End Participation of Ward/Department/Hospital

To end the participation of a ward or department, please send an email with the relevant abbreviations (each including a hospital and a ward abbreviation) to kiss-support@charite.de.

If deregistering an entire hospital, please provide all ward abbreviations so that we can assess any potential impact on third parties.
