Links to NHSN/CDC Definitions

The National Reference Center for Surveillance of Nosocomial Infections uses the same definitions for diagnosis in KISS as the Centers for Disease Control in the USA uses for the National Healthcare Safety Network. A very few surgical site infections are tracked only by KISS and not by the NHSN; see the protocols of each module for these exceptions.
